Wednesday WOW!! : Fairies – fly away to the land of imagination

Howdy y’all!! 
I hope you’re all fine, and having great times.
I’ve been spending some times in my parents’ house for nearly 10 days now.

Last week I accidentally hurt my left eye while playing with my daughter 
The doctor said that it was scratched  so he gave me some eye drops and meds.
So, what was planned as short visit to my parents became a quite-long-recovery-visit 
Where I could only sleep and sleep and sleep 
I can’t get online as much as I want used to, because the lights from electronic devices hurt my eye.
It was a totally boring week 

But now, my left eye is healthier than ever (I think lol). And I can’t wait to share with you another source of inspiration of mine 

Fairy – Or some people prefer faerie, is one of those inspiring magical creatures for me 

wikipedia could give you enough explanation about them, and I don’t think I’m gonna bother you with long-boring-explanation about fairies.
I wanna share how fairies help me to create my jewelry.

Not all fairy is nice. Some tales tell us about naughty fairy, evil fairy, jealousy fairy, cunning fairy, greedy fairy, etc etc just like us human. To me, it shows me that even beautiful creature has its own flaws. Nothing is perfect. And it’s important to accept both sides.

Beside their beautiful figures, for me fairy represents hope and endless possibilities.
Cinderella’s godmother help her realize her dream to go to the ball.
Aurora’s fairies keep her safe from evil fairy’s curse.
Tinker Bell helps Peter Pan whenever he’s in troubles.
And many many many more fairy tales which said fairy helps the characters realize their dreams. Maybe I read too much of them, but those tales sometimes help me see things through. It helps me think outside the box within my daily life and when I’m creating my jewelries.

Okay, now what’s the point of this fairy-insights in jewelry design/making? Let me summarize them for you 

1. everything is possible in your imaginations just like my motto. Every design is possible in your imaginations, so let your imaginations fly high. Sketch down every designs you could imagine, and try to realize them!

2. When you feel like it’s impossible to realize a design, don’t give up!! relax, take a deep breath, bring your sketch book to your fave place, with your fave beverages (for me it would be hot chocolate, or fresh juice ) and let your imaginations fly, to see several possibilities about it.
I’ve done this many times, and it works 

3. When you’re out of supplies, or maybe you don’t have enough funds to buy the supplies, don’t let your imaginations down. Again, let your imaginations fly high and think how can you use your supplies to create something beautiful

4. Do not avoid ‘difficult’ materials. repeat no. 2, and maybe you’ll come up with brilliant idea.
Difficult materials mean those materials you don’t wanna use because of their shape, color, physical appearance, and makes you feel uncomfortable to work with.

I know, it’s not only me who inspired by fairy. If you don’t mind, please share your story here with me 🙂

See you again, fellas!!

Wednesday WOW!!!: Betta Fish – Flare With Style

Hi, there!!
How are you? It’s been sometimes (well, long time) since my last post about my inspirations.

Today I’m gonna share another inspiration source of mine: Betta Fish, or some people may call it Siamese Fighting Fish.

Here it is:
Half moon betta fish

Look at the beautiful color, flaring fins and gorgeous shape. I always think about a dancer when I look a betta fish.

I can’t tell you too much facts about this beautiful fish, because (honestly) I don’t know that much lol.
But maybe I can share a bit from my own experience.

About 10 years ago, my lil sister had some of this beautiful fishes. Including a very beautiful purplish one. I sometimes enjoyed looking at him (yes the purplish one was a male) swim around in his lil jar.
The flare of his fin was so elegant, and at the same time almost arrogant.
He was my lil sister’s fave fish.
One day, when my sister got home from school, she found him dead, lying on her desk.
It seemed like my sister overflowed his jar and he jumped out of it.

No need to be said that we lost him. My sister never had another fish.
And I missed this little guy (sometimes).

Okay, here are few eye candies of betta fish:

Wednesday WOW!: Butterfly – Keeping Faith Along The Way

Today’s Wednesday WOW! is butterfly.

As you can see, lots of my jewelry pieces were inspired by butterflies. So far I’ve made about 12 butterfly jewelries. I also find lots of jewelry artisans inspired by butterflies (at least, they made butterfly jewelries).

Butterfly with its beautiful wings, unique wings patterns, gorgeous colors, and meaningful symbolism has been one of my endless source of inspirations. Every time I made a butterfly piece, I always gain new insight about them, and of course some meaningful insight for my life.

Here’s my favorite butterfly meaning.

Overwhelmingly, cultural myth and lore honor the butterfly as a symbol of transformation because of its impressive process of metamorphosis.

From egg, to larvae (caterpillar), to pupa (the chrysalis or cocoon) and from the cocoon the butterfly emerges in her unfurling glory.

Herein lies the deepest symbolic lesson of the butterfly. She asks us to accept the changes in our lives as casually as she does. The butterfly unquestioningly embraces the chances of her environment and her body.

This unwavering acceptance of her metamorphosis is also symbolic of faith. Here the butterfly beckons us to keep our faith as we undergo transitions in our lives. She understands that our toiling, fretting and anger are useless against the turning tides of nature – she asks us to recognize the same.

It’s connection with the soul is rather fitting. We are all on a long journey of the soul. On this journey we encounter endless turns, shifts, and conditions that cause us to morph into ever-finer beings. At our soul-journey’s end we are inevitably changed – not at all the same as when we started on the path.

To take this analogy a step further, we can look again to the grace and eloquence of the butterfly and realize that our journey is our only guarantee. Our responsibility to make our way in faith, accept the change that comes, and emerge from our transitions as brilliantly as the butterfly.

I think Avia’s explanation is very comprehensive. She pointed out some beautiful life values, which inspired me designing those butterfly jewelries. And I hope you’ll be inspired too!!
